I'll be back with photos from Mesa (it's a 1,053 mile trip)! Anyone else hitting up that show? If not, all you kids in the area try to get out to one- Jimmy will be playing new material, and is that not cool? Before it hits the new CD- which I can't wait for.

I am wondering if "Vermillion" is at all related to Michael Vermillion, the lead singer of Lavalle's previous project GoGoGoAirHeart.

mm the album leaf...
i saw them the 26th in charlotte, nc.. i was on spring break.. vacationed with my mom all the way to virginia, and got to see them by stopping in charlotte on the way back. they were playing where i live, in florida, on the 21st.. but i was already going to be on the road and it was 18+ only, which extremely dissapointed me.
my birthday was on the 20th. and that was the best fucking birthday i had (even though it was 6 days late) but that doesn't really matter. because the album leaf were BEYOND AMAZING. the best show i have ever been to. i wish i bought their tour ep. i didn't realize they were only selling it on their tour... but i was waiting outside for my mom for 45 minutes and already had my hands full with a poster and shirt. and who knew if i had any money for the ep.
whatever, i'm blabbing.. probably because i'm over tired. yet i procrastonate even longer on sleep.
i should probably end this.

Hey guys. I'm glad to see that there's at least some activity here. If you'd like, ask your friends or any other fans that you know of to join. It'd make this place a lot more lively and friendly.

» Pictures from TAL @ SXSW
Ahh, it was really cool that TAL came to Austin for the great SXSW...except for the part where each band gets approximately 40 minutes. A few audio problems, a sort of damaged piano, and simply too short a time period were a few negative factors, but each was canceled out just because TAL puts on a great show, despite problems, setting, time limits. Three cheers for The Album Leaf! I believe they had the best set of the night out of the Sub Poppers ;)

And, as before when he came to Austin, I photographed. I whole heartedly admit I could take photos of them for a living; it's wonderful to have Jimmy and his friends for subjects! I will continue to do such each time Jimmy/players are in Texas <3 Hell, I would fucking travel to see TAL.

In no particular order, I present a selection of photos I took March 16, 2005 at the SXSW Festival of The Album Leaf.

Yay! The Leafy People!

Yes. I did have the In a Safe Place logo tattooed on my stomach (see my LJ icon). I had it done one night before the concert; it would have been done after the January show had I had money/the image/the time! It's so beautiful the leaves are :) So, to explain the photograph, I approached Jimmy and his crew and showed him. We all stripped down a bit and took the photograph taken by the Album Leaf merch guy....And they're all cool as ice :D Extremely down to earth. Yet another reason why I hold TAL in highest respect <3

Hey, kids! Looks like there's not a lot of action here. Let's change that. I'll start! Here are pictures I took when Jimmy and his posse came to Austin, Texas January 26th (last Wednesday). It was an amazing show. I'm still in shock and awe state :) Hah, I shook his hand because my friends embarassed me ;x I took a million pictures and a lot more movies than this, but these were the exceptional ones. Camera was a Sony Cybershot F717.

Enjoy :)

These are the movies I took of the show: http://www.onfuego.com/tutorials_101/
